WIDE Project started 100Gbps upgrade project of the WIDE Internet Testbed to prepare for the future Internet design and researches.
To support this project, Huawei Japan collaborated by upgrading the equipments used in the WIDE Internet to 100Gbps capable ones. As of today, main hubs of WIDE Internet such as Keio University and the University of Tokyo completed the upgrades. 100Gbps capable Internet were demonstrated as a part of ShowNet of Interop 2015 from June 10-12 at Makuhari.

100Gbps capable WIDE Internet is also connected to the National Astronomical Observatory of Japan, and support to share the massive observation data with researchers in the world.
